Thirteen Reason Why by Jay Asher

Why I Read This Book: I saw this book once and I knew I had to have it.  The creative, beautifly photograpy on the cover plus the amazing  plot on the cover drew me in from the start.  I asked my dad to  buy it for me the next day.

Review: I love this book!  This is the kind of book that makes me wonder how in the world the author comes up with this idea.  The plot starts off when Clay finds casseste tapes on his front porch.  He relizes they are the last words of Hannah, a clasmate that had recently killed herself.  Of course Clay liked Hannah, so he slowly listens to every tape, one side, for one reason.  Clay learns things about Hannah, himself, and other people he never expetited to learn.  I love the way this book is written because of the dual dialouge and the fact this book only takes place over one night.  This book will make you laugh and cry while you learn all about Hannah, and her former life.

Why I Choose To Read This Book:  You can not imagine how many times I’ve been to the book store and looked at ever single book.  At our school we had to make book trailers, like movie trailers only for books and I saw a book trailer for this book.  As soon as I saw the title I knew what book it was and I had to get it.

Review: It doesn’t matter if your a guy or a girl this book is a decent read for either.  Clary is just a regular girl who lives with her mom.  One day her life changes in an instant when she goes to a night club.  There she sees hunters killing a demon.  But of course she’s the only one who see’s them.  She learns that she’s just like these “Shawdowhunters” and a whole secret world her mother has been hiding.  This book has a multi-element plot, combining love, adventure, action and mystery into one amazing story.  The only problem with this book is that you get halfway and your ready for it to be over.  I liked this book enought to buy the second one though.

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

I Thought it would be appropriate to start off with a book about summer.

Why I Chose to Read This Book: The Summer I Turned Pretty was on a display for books to start of your summer.  Whenever you see a book on display you’ll know that it could be a good book.  After that I read the cover and it sounded super interesting.  The plot seemed catchy and not repetitive of some other book so I picked it up.

Review:  As soon I finished with the first chapter I was already in love with Conrad.  The plot starts as Belly, a almost sixteen year-old girl, arives with her brother and mother to her moms friends beachhouse.  They have been going her and spending the summer with Her mom’s friend and two sons, Conrad and Jerimaih,  for as long as Belly can remember.  Belly has always been left out because she was just a little girl but this summer things have changed.  I read this book in one day and couldn’t put it down because of its addictive twisting plot and its intense descriptions.  I felt like I was at the beach the whole time plus I fell in love with Conrad, one of the guys in the book.  This book will make you laugh but its super sad and when you’re down it leaves you wanting more.

Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin

Elsewhere is the place where you go when you die. I know that sounds blunt but that’s just how it is. Our main character is 15 year old Elizabeth, Liz to her friends, who finds her self in the mysterious elsewhere when she gets hit by a car and dies. Liz doesn’t want to accept her death but finally does and takes a job in the elsewhere community and meets friends. She’s very happy  life, or death, throws her a curve. The book is full of interesting characters and a good story line!! So in short you should just read it!

Inkdeath by Cornelie Funke

Ok so ya’ll’ve heared about inkheart and inkspell from Nevada right?? well this is the 3rd book in the series and my personal favorite!!! All our same characters are there meggie, mo, elinor, farid and the rest. So you remember the end of Inkspell and Mo’s focus is to kill king Adder and save the people of the Inkworld. Farid is trying to bring Dustfinger back from the dead (ya he died ‘member?? I was sad.) Rese has a secret or two that she shares, and Felingo is a wreck. So thats pretty much it but theres a lot more that happens and farid my even have some competition for meggies love *winks*. So go read the other two and this one and comment please!!

Ok so this book has two covers, one with a picture and one with wings.  I enjoy the one with the picture because the girl on the front captivates you with the color and darkness of it and makes you want to read the back.  The one with wings doesn’t do the book justice.

Review;

Starting off with a webpage and then enticeing the reader with mystery from the beginning, this book holds your attention from start to finish.  Its a romance but a mystery.  A novel and yet a website.  It gives you answers but leaves you hanging.  This book is written somewhat well but has some dullish writing spots.  The plot is contagious but the writing is dead.

The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini

Ok so it’s 3 books so far, Eragon, Eldest and Brisingr. I bet you’ve heard of Eragon because they made it in to a movie (which I hated it was so not like the book) and its a really good book about a farm boy, Eragon, and how he found a Dragon egg and was thrust in to this world of magic, monsters, and war. He meets friends and is confronted with his worst fears. I Eldest, Eragon and his dragon, Spahira, travel to the elf city to be trained on how to save the world (pressure much?). So pretty much that’s the whole book until the end where you get a HUGE surprise. Then comes Brisingr. Eragon and Saphira fulfill their promises they made to many people and fight in numerous battles, they learn some interesting things and loose some interesting friends. The end was sad and made me cry but over all it was my favorite book in the ’Cycle’. So ya… You need  read them!!!!

13 Little Blue Envolopes By Who Knows I’m Too Tired To Care

Ok this book is the bomb!  I loved it!  If you want adventure and girly stuff this book is for you.  I loved every second from the time I picked it up.  The plot line sort of follows the PS I Love You thing where dead people give you letters.  My favorite thing about this book is how the author didn’t tell you everything at once, she slowly progressed into telling you the whole thing.  Ages 10 and up.

Gregor the Overlander Series by Suzanna Collins (Books 1-5)

Oh and I don’t really know the whole cover thing Nevada’s doing so I’m just not gonna do it =D)

These books are Ah-Maz-Ing no lie! I read them first when i was in 5th grade and still read them every year. They are about Gregor, A boy who lives in New York city, who one day finds himself and his little sister, Boots, falling down a air duct and discovering the underland, a place filled with giant bats, rats, cockroaches, and the pail skinned, violet eyed underlanders. He meets new friends, and looses some then goes on quests and adventures battling the evil giant rats. I totaly reccomend this book if you are 8 or older… so like go read them… like right now!
